BODY AS A DATASET
AI GENERATED FROM THE HUMAN BODY
BY: ME + AI
In building our own dataset, we wanted to test how Runway AI could integrate images of human forms “sitting” as imagined architectural concepts. These images create the foundation for the database in which we mixed our 3 sets of chair gremlins. Each of these hybrid databases are run 4 times using the definition we established for architecture, dance, chair, and textile. These new images show extremely distorted imaginations of architecture, dance, chairs, and textiles as a combination of both human and machine intelligence. The human figures are arguably not human, yet just human enough to elicit an uncanny reaction, conversely the textile, chair and architecture images are derived from human forms. These uncomfortable images are successful because they create an ambiguity between space, figure, pattern, and movement yet can still recall their respective definitions.
DATASET
How many ways can you “sit” on a chair? Everything, except the “sitting” body, is extracted from the image. The bodies become a dataset in Runway that can be used to generate new images with text or image prompts.

WITH ME + AI DEFINITIONS
Do the styles of each AI model remain when combined as a new dataset? Over 20 images of chairs from each AI model were mixed with images of bodies “sitting” to create 3 new separate datasets.
1.MIDJOURNEY
ARCHITECTURE
A CHOREOGRAPHY OF SPATIAL APPROACHES.
DANCE
TO EXTEND THE BOUNDARIES OF THE BODY/ENTITY THROUGH MOVEMENT IN A WAY THAT DEFINES SPACE TO VISUALLY COMMUNICATE.
CHAIR
A TYPE OF OBJECT THAT IS TYPICALLY USED FOR SITTING.
TEXTILE
COMPOSED OF THREADS THAT ARE TWISTED, KNOTTED, WOVEN, OR ARRANGED IN RELATION TO EACH OTHER TO CREATE A TACTILE EXPERIENCE.
2. RUNWAY
