“WOVEN ELEGANCE”

FULLER X ALBERS

The contemporary modernist Bauhaus by Loie Fuller, inspired by yarn wool and thread, textile technique, and weaving structure developed by Anni Albers, is a mesmerizing performance that combines movement, light, and woven textures in a stunning display of artistic expression. A flowing, translucent textile made of intricately woven threads, resembling the intricate colored patterns and rich textures often found in Anni Albers' weavings and drawings. The textile threads reflect and catch the light as the textile moves, creating a dynamic and captivating visual effect through the set backdrop. The movements are graceful and fluid, evoking the textured patterns of the textile. The textile manipulates, creating waves, folds, and pleats that echo the new weaving techniques developed by Anni Albers. The thread is an extension of the body, and weaves in and out of the textile, creating a mesmerizing interplay between movement and the textile's structure. The textile may be made of natural threads woven together in complex patterns.

THE FABRIC BECOMES AN EXTENSION OF THE BODY, AND THEY WEAVE IN AND OUT OF THE TEXTILE, CREATING A MESMERIZING INTERPLAY BETWEEN THE MOVEMENTS AND THE TEXTILE'S STRUCTURE.

THE TEXTILE MAY BE MADE OF FINE THREADS, SUCH AS SILK OR SYNTHETIC FIBERS, WOVEN TOGETHER IN COMPLEX PATTERNS TO CREATE A DELICATE YET DURABLE FABRIC.

THE DANCE BEGINS WITH THE DANCER DRAPED IN A FLOWING, TRANSLUCENT TEXTILE MADE OF INTRICATELY WOVEN THREADS, RESEMBLING THE INTRICATE PATTERNS AND TEXTURES OFTEN FOUND IN ANNI ALBERS' WEAVINGS.

PROJECTED ONTO THE FABRIC, THE LIGHT INTERACTS WITH THE TEXTILE'S TEXTURE, CREATING A PLAY OF LIGHT AND SHADOW THAT ENHANCES THE OVERALL VISUAL IMPACT OF THE DANCE.
